Bruce E. Ellerin, JD, PhD, MD, is a board-certified radiation oncologist at the UT Health East Texas Cancer Institute who has experience in treating a wide variety of cancers. Accuracy and breadth of information are priorities for Dr. Ellerin. He believes in collecting all relevant data before deciding on a treatment plan. "The patient has to be comfortable with the plan and needs to know what factors led to its formulation. That is the only way things will work."
Dr. Ellerin finds the most rewarding part of his work to be "the possibility of seeing in real time the outcomes that improve the survival and quality of life of patients."
Dr. Ellerin is employed as a clinical faculty physician at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler under the UT Tyler School of Medicine.
