Shawn Tai, MD, is a board-certified oncologist at UT Health East Texas HOPE Cancer Center. Dr. Tai believes everyone should be treated with respect. "My philosphy of care is that everyone should be treated with the respect and kindness that they deserve. We do not get to choose the diseases that affect us but we do have a choice when it comes to how we are treated."
Dr. Tai's medical interest are in the field of oncology and hematology more specifically in the field of gastrointestinal cancers. "We have a multidisciplinary approach on all cases. Patients can rest assured that our recommendation is backed by a team of multi specialists that practice evidence-based medicine."
Dr. Tai is fluent in Vietnamese and speaks some Cambodian. He enjoys playing most sports, traveling and cooking.
Dr. Tai is employed as a clinical faculty physician at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler under the UT Tyler School of Medicine.
