UT Health Tyler
Sadia Malik, MD, is a board-certified family medicine physician who sees patients at UT Health East Texas Rehabilitation Center in Tyler. “I think the most important thing is to just listen to the patient. You might notice something that could change the patient’s whole medical treatment.”
Although born in the U.S., Dr. Malik spent time growing up in her parents’ native Pakistan. She speaks English, Urdu, Punjabi, Hindi and a little Spanish, which helps her communicate with a wider range of patients. “I try to put myself in their place. I like to explain why we’re doing things, even if it’s just a simple test.”
Dr. Malik earned her medical degree from Rawalpindi Medical College in Pakistan and she completed her family medicine internship and residency at Reading Hospital and Medical Center in West Reading, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Malik is employed as a clinical faculty physician at The University of Texas at Tyler Health Science Center under the UT Tyler School of Medicine.
